Take a break from the slope and visit Itoigawa City may be a good idea. Itoigawa City is 1 hour away from Hakuba Valley by bus and is next to the coastline of the Japanese Sea.

In this tour, you will visit the Tanimura Art Museum. This museum is designed by architect Togo Murano and displays the wooden buddha sculpture by Seiko Sawada. The Japanese Garden is picturesque.

After visiting the art museum, you will have seafood lunch and visit the fish market. Itoigawa is famous for seafood which is a must try item when you are in Japan.

After the lunch, you will visit a shrine built on top of a large mass of volcanic rock.
