The name says it all. "Shiki no Yado" means four season accommodation, and that is what the Kawaichiya is. In Winter it is a snow sports mecca, Spring sees cool temperatures and flower blooming, Summer has great trekking, and fall sees some of the most stunning autumn colors in Japan. And the Kawaichiya has easy access to it all.
The inn has 2 different hot springs sources, ideal for a soak at the end of a hard days activity. Both indoor and open air baths will refresh you and relax your body. And if the inn's hot springs are not enough, remember that Nozawa has 13 "Soto-Yu" bathhouses around town that are free for all.
Guest rooms a either Japanese style (futons) or Japanese Western Rooms with 2 single beds and a tatami mat area. There are 20 rooms in all, making an ideal size for meeting and getting to know fellow travelers, while ensuring personal service from inn staff.
Breakfast is included with all bookings , and dinner is available on request (please let the ryokan know on the morning you require dinner). Meals are served in the main dining room, or in a private room if you have a group of people.
For guests wanting to ski/snowboard at Nozawa Onsen ski resort, the closest lift is 6 minutes walk from the front door, and you can access either the Shinyu Pair, or Yu-Road escalator on foot.
