There are no ATM or money changing facilities in the greater Madarao Kogen area. The closest ATM to Madarao Kogen is on route 97, about 15 km (25 minutes by car) in Iiyama city, where there are both Lawson and Seven Eleven Convenience Stores.
The post office in Iiyama also has an International ATM , however hours are limited, with closing times of 7:00PM on weekdays, and 5:00PM on weekends and public holidays.
It pays to carry enough cash for you entire time in Madarao Kogen from the time you leave the airport, and pay by credit card at any opportunity you can.
