Makinoiri Snow Park
Makinoiri Snow Park
Makinoiri Snow Park is the closest ski resort to Iiyama City. It is a small resort with 5 lifts, but on most days only a couple of lifts are running.
Although joined to neighboring Kijimadaira Ski resort, there is no combined ticket at present.
It is a good place to escape the crowds during weekends and peak season.
Much of the terrain is suited to beginners, and there is not much here for advanced levels unless the top lift is open (the top lift seems to be in permanent hibernation).
Either due to corona, or other reasons, only the #1 Quad, and #2 Triple operate. This severely restricts the amount of terrain, and with the day pass being 3,500yen, it is an expensive day for limited terrain. It may be worth while for families with small children, but unless they reinstate the combined Kijimadaira/Makinoiri Day Pass, it is difficult to recommend a day here.
