Hakuba Norikura Ski Resort
Hakuba Norikura Ski Resort
Located towards the north of Hakuba Valley, Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort (Haku-nori for short) is well worth the trek from central Hakuba. It consistently has some of the highest snowfalls in the valley and can be a welcome relief from the crowds next door at Hakuba Cortina ski resort.
This resort is 100% natural snow, with no snow making facilities, which make it more weather dependent, but then again offers more authenticity. While most runs are groomed, the Sky View Slope and the Snake Valley Course are both 100% natural, and a great fun on a powder day.
The main part of the resort has 5 lifts , while the northern part has another 3 lifts. Getting between the 2 areas can be a little tricky as if you miss a turn you wind up back where you started.
Very much a family-oriented resort, there is plenty for the kids to do also.
Owned and operated by the Hakuba Alps Hotel, this can be a great resort for those looking at Ski In / Ski Out accommodation away from the main hubs of Happo and Echoland. It is also one of the few hotels in the area with both a hot spring spa, and an all season swimming pool.
As it is connected to Cortina Resort, there is a combine Lift pass available, but it is better value to get a Hakuba Valley Lift Pass as the transport out to Hakuba Norikura becomes free of charge also.
